    Kaylani Juanita is an award-winning freelance picture book illustrator. She's received a Coretta Scott King Honor for her illustrations in Magnificent Homespun Brown, a Stonewall Book Award for When Aidan Became a Brother, and a spot on The Kirkus Reviews Best Picture Books for Together We Swim. Her clients include Chronicle Books, Simon & Schuster, Scholastic, and many more. With a passion for counter-storytelling through her perspective as a bisexual Black Filam raised in California, Kaylani strives to explore different ways for people to imagine themselves using pictures and words.
